Just recently picked up Captains log and I'm really enjoying it. It's certainly a genre I've wanted to explore, however, I know zero people interested in TTRPG's let alone a Star Trek one. Can't wait for the physical book. Navigating on a PDF just a pain.
It's also great if you're like me, not a super knowledgeable fan. I love the show, I watched the original series and onward into the 90's at some point. But I've never delved much deeper than that. Now that I'm older, I'm revisiting it and the book does a good job of packing in details that make you feel at home no matter your level of fandom.
Glad to hear the system is streamlined for these books. Weโve got the ST Adventures books at home and love reading them, but never played as none of our group enjoy the 2d20 system ๐ great to see the solo rpg concept getting more visibility
Iโve got the main rule book and just picked up the Lower Decks guide as my family loves the show. Captainโs Log leans towards journaling more than you might expect, so I think there is a lot of flexibility with it.
It's such a well made book. Great for all Star Trek fans and accessible to all levels and styles of gamers. Very adaptable to all those books you have.
Captain's Log is 100% standalone - but it's based on the 2d20 system used by Star Trek Adventures, so the content is compatible. What you get with all your additional books is a deeper dive in to particular eras or ideas for adventures. The book even provides rules for moving characters between Adventures campaigns and Captain's Log.

You've nailed it. The Star Trek lore primer in Captain's Log is great. Helpful to core, lapsed, or new fans. Enjoy!

Iโll have to give the Trek one a try!
Let me know if you do. Maybe we can set our captains up in the same universe and we can have a crossover episode!
Sounds good!
This is great! I have a lot of Star Trek Adventures books and nobody to play it with. A solo game sounds like a fun time.

How do you use it with other books? The description makes It sound like a pretty standalone book.
